Albion’s range of brassware includes reproductions of Antique Bath Taps in two main styles. Beaufort faithfully replicates the antique bath taps of the Victorian and early Edwardian eras. With flat propeller heads and china indices bearing the Albion name, the head works are of the authentic rising valves and rubber washer type. As with antique bath taps of the period the hexagonal nut workings are exposed which compliment the slender spouts below.
The Amie range although not a direct copy of any particular antique bath taps, have a sinuous form evocative of the Art Nouveau period. The more harsh flat propeller heads and exposed workings of the Beaufort antique bath taps range are given a more stylised teardrop sleeker look that would not have been out of place in Paris in the early part of the last century. As with the Beaufort range China indices bear the Albion Name and in this instance to bring the Amie antique bath taps up to the modern standard the valves are of the quarter turn ceramic type.
