Victorian bath
The epitome of luxurious bathing is often coined in the expression ‘a Victorian Bath’. This expression conjures thoughts of fine stately homes with grand rooms and peaceful surroundings. In fact, the Victorian Bath was originally produced from Cast Iron in high quantities for both Aristocracy and Middle Classes alike. Furthermore, the Victorian Bath designs were used in large numbers in institutions such as Infirmaries, Retirement Homes and Asylums.
One thinks of the Victorian Bath as the generic Roll Top Bath design in both Single Ended and Double Ended formats. For more opulent surroundings, Bateau Victorian Baths came into fashion giving bathers a deep, sumptuous tub in which to relax.
In 1994, The Albion Bath Co Ltd commenced manufacture of fine baths to echo the style of the Victorian Bath. By using a special material developed by Albion, a more practical version was manufactured. This special material, called Iso-Enamel is al reinforced mixture of high technology resin and powdered stone. This results in a bath that is exceptionally strong, durable and hard-wearing. The white interior surface is a high gloss coating that can be cleaned with all modern liquid cleaners and cannot be compared to inferior acrylic.
Since 1994, literally thousands of Victorian Bath Tubs have rolled out of the Albion factory giving many homeowners years of bathing enjoyment.
